import knx project name of command/feedback

Benno Evers 7 years ago in Applications / Studio (Server editor) updated by Matthijs Dankelman 7 years ago 10

Hello,

Is it possible to create an option when importing a KNXPROJ file to select if we want to use the names of the group addresses or the group address itself?

So for example if I have a group address: 1/1/1 which is called 'Switch light hallway'

It would be usefull to be able to tell iridium it should use 1/1/1 as a name for the command instead of 'switch light hallway'

Of course the same thing will be good for the feedbacks.

That way it is easier to create a universal gui by script.

Please vote for the idea if you like it.

Is it possible to add this?

Alexander, can you please investigate this request?

A few system-integrators want this option, and I think it don't cost days to implement this feature....

Thanks

Theo

Sorry, but 6 votes is a useless function ...

+1

we also have requests here on the Forum with >30 votes, and these requests are also not accepted....

So, it looks the number of votes is totally not important.

It's the functionality for the requests that are done: this is a request with a functionality to save time (=money) for high-end system integrators.

I would like to ask you to investigate this request.

Thanks

Theo

I think it's really stupid to put it like this. I am a customer, just like the others who voted. We need this function. I understand it won't get priority because of the amount of votes, but to tell it's useless without even investigate it is really disrespectful to your customers. We are posting messages here to make YOUR product better and more useful for the people who buy it from YOU. That way YOU maybe sell more.

How many votes do you need Aleksandr? There are plenty topics with +20 votes with no feedback if it will be created or not.

Hi Benno

You are absolutely right.

You (installers/system -integrators) are helping to improve the software, and then this is the opinion from a manufacturer....

Very disappointing for all my customers.

Thanks

Theo

Your ideas for development are very important to us. But we have a definite development plan and are limited in adding new tasks. The number of votes affects the chances of adding a task, but DOES NOT GUARANTEE it.

I think the voting system shows how urgent some functions asked by your customers are wanted. So I think that should have impact on your development plan. Maybe you are developing things which are nice to have, but not really needed at this moment, I think the people who use your software now can tell best what is needed or not.

By voting you existing customers tell you what they need to keep using your product in the most efficient way.

It looks like you are ignoring your customers and only follow your own plans. You give us a voting system, which doesn't have any guarantees, you might as well give us a roulette table instead of votes, it gives the same result and feeling.

Tell me, why should we create topics in this forum? It takes time, but without result, efficiency = 0. So it will be better to use my time for something else.

Very often, users see only flaws, but do not see that the product is developing. I'm sorry that you got a bad experience with our product. Will it be better to say that we will investigate this, but we will not do it ourselves? I pay attention to the number of votes and your ideas, and you can not notice how many ideas are realized on the prompts of our customers. Voting works, although for you it does not look that way. I am grateful when you write your proposals, but I can not guarantee that all of them will be realized, especially if the idea is supported by only 6 votes (it really is).

I agree with Benno and Theo, development should be done if your customers ask for things.

Customers are who in fact helped you get your product at the point in t now is. It seems like we get no thanks for that and that our opinion is less important/of no importance.

New functions are a good thing but first make your current customers happy with devolopment they need for faster programming and debugging

In my opinion first priority needs to be to keep your current customers happy.

As Benno says, we can vote whatever we want but if you don't feel like developing you don't develop. So what's the use of that...

If iRidium keeps working this way i think you're going to lose customers!!
